De Zaan
Quality cocoa from Holland. De Zaan is the specialist for cocoa - from the bean and its processing right through to premium products for catering and retail. The Dutch chocolate factory 'De Zaan' was the result of the entrepreneurial spirit of 12 Dutch SMEs in Koog aan de Zaan, north of Amsterdam. In 1910 they decided to embark together on a joint venture and quickly opted to specialise in chocolate. An important aspect was the multitude of mills that are (still) located here. And this is also where the imported cocoa beans were ground into fine cocoa powder. Now owned by market leader Olam Cacao Group, De Zaan still stands for premium quality in the cocoa world.
