Mug made of PLA

Biodegradable cups made of polylactides
Coloured-transparent ice cream sundaes made of compostable plastic. Polylactide (PLA) consists of lactic acid derived from corn plants. Completely odourless and tasteless and approved for contact with food. The biodegradable cups can be used for hot and cold food. However, above 50°C, the material becomes soft and no longer dimensionally stable. Therefore, the cups should not be cleaned in the dishwasher. You can find out even more about PLA in our blog report on bioplastics.
