4 generations of Prosecco and wine growing in Treviso. Winner of the DOCG award for the highest quality. The Italian Il Colle
winery in the green hills of the province of Treviso has been linked to Prosecco cultivation for 4 generations. Today, the family-owned company stands, above all, for its efficient viticulture in harmony with nature. Which is why this winery is located in spacious underground wine cellars - thereby preserving the harmony of the environment and guaranteeing the latest hygiene regulations.
Sparkling Wine and Champagne
Il Colle specialises in the production of Frizzante and Spumante sparkling wines. The company is especially proud of the DOCG award for its Prosecco Spumante. DOCG stands for "Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita" and is the highest quality designation of Italian wines. The quality of the wines is constantly controlled (controllata) and guaranteed (garantita) to the consumer.
The specifications for the use of this designation relate, in particular, to the selection of the grape varieties and their mixing ratios, a limitation on the size of cultivated area, the maturity of the grapes at harvest, the production methods of the wines and the storage time in the bottle. An inside tip for restaurateurs with Italian charm.
